WORKSHOPS

All the workshops I offer can be adapted to your service, your time allowance and your focus. If you cannot see what you are looking for here do not hesitate to get in touch and I will be happy to make a bespoke course for you and your team.

The Sensory World

The impact of how young people process sensory information is becoming more widely acknowledged as important in how they learn, interact with others and the world around them.

In this interactive and hands on workshop I will guide you through sensory experiences that can highlight how some young people struggle to understand and perceive the sensory world and how this impacts on their emotional well-being and their behaviour. We will explore case examples and your own professional experiences with sensory challenges. We will look at how as a team you can understand and support these challenges to nurture the best possible environment for each individual to meet their potential.

Managing Emotions

How we feel, our bodily experiences and our behaviours are all intertwined. This workshop is a practical guide in approaching young people’s expressed emotions and how to feel empowered in meeting any challenging behaviours that arise when a child is emotionally dysregulated. As a team you will leave with a clear understanding and a united approach in managing and supporting difficult emotions and challenging behaviours in the young people you support.

Anxiety and Stress

This workshop can be for teams working with young people or for groups of young people directly.

Anxiety and stress are increasing in our young population. This workshop will help you understand what anxiety is, why it happens and how it manifests in you/ your young people. The workshop will explore different approaches and give you tools and strategies for managing these difficult and uncomfortable feelings.

A Positive Approach to Parenting

This workshop can be for teams working with young people as well as parents and foster carers.

Any key adults in a young person’s life are crucial and fundemental to how a child understands the world, themselves and how they interact within it. Being a parent is hard and challenging and so this workshop looks at what our own triggers are and what we need to do to be the best for our children. It explores what approach we can take in order to empower our young people, build resilience and confidence and build an open and trusting relationship from which your young person can thrive.
